THE REMOVALIST

This documentary is in development and follows John Siaki and his sons who, under the sweltering Queensland sun, take on the unenviable task of helping women safely exit violent homes.

In Australia, one woman every week is murdered by their intimate partner. Violence at home costs Australia $21.7 billion per year. The problem is huge, we all know it. So what are any of us actually DOING about it?

John is a gentle giant, a disarming bloke and an unexpected champion of women’s rights. This is a story of gender-based violence through the eyes of a man who has been able to change, and is not afraid to stand up against the fray. Now, more than ever, we need to hear this story from men.

There is some heavy lifting to do, but this is men’s work.

This cinematic film is an intimate, exquisitely shot exploration the lives of Cowboys (Gauchos) living at the end of the world in Patagonia. A compelling portrait of sacrifice, tradition and endurance in extreme isolation, through the stories of the Gaucho, we understand what it truly means to be alone.
